Peter Lee

Peter Seung-woo Lee has volunteered with the Seongnam City Sister Committee since September 2015. He got involved with Aurora Sister Cities International to contribute to the economic and cultural growth and prosperity of both Aurora and Seongnam City. Peter has also participated in the Adama Sister City Committee meetings with the Colorado Ethiopian community. He is a Health Insurance Broker and Advisory Committee member for Connect for Health Colorado. In this role, Peter advocates for Colorado’s Asian and ethnic minority communities’ enrollments, issues and concerns. He has also worked as a Partnership Specialist at US Census Bureau Denver Regional Office where he was responsible for developing Census 2010 partnerships with Asian community-based organizations. Peter was a banker for 18 years and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Colorado at Denver.

Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Peter served in the Korean Army, moving to Aurora, Colorado in 1988. His community service started back in 1996 with various community leadership positions such as Secretary of Governor’s Asian Pacific American Advisory Council and Co-chair for the Aurora Asian Pacific Community Partnership. Peter was appointed as the President of the National Unification Advisory Council Denver Chapter where he served four terms. He currently serves as the President of the Rocky Mountain Korean Lions Club, and Advisory Board of Director for Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families. Peter also serves on the boards of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Denver Asian Pacific American Commissioner, and Korean American Coalition National.
