TEA-NCTA Seminar: Teaching Korea in the Globalizing World.
Presenting authentic voices through Korean narratives and texts, this seminar offers teachers the opportunity to use a humanities approach to engage in study, analysis, and discussion of scholarship related to Korea’s interactions with the modern world. Participants will work with Korean studies scholars and specialists to learn about the Korean people’s experience of colonialism, democracy, the Cold War, communism, command economics, and capitalism in the last 125 years.
Open to Colorado and Wyoming teachers, grades 6-12. Priority will be given to social studies teachers and teacher-teams. Offered through a combination of online, residential, and one-day workshop formats for a total of 30-hours.
