High School Virtual Exchange Project with Korea

On Friday January 15th, five Aurora area high school students met virtually with five high school students in Seongnam, South Korea. Part of the Aurora Sister Cities International’s Global Youth Leader Program, this was the first  of four virtual exchanges scheduled with Aurora’s sister city.  Students chatted and engaged in topics that help them learn more about each other and how life has been since the COVID-19 pandemic.  College, career aspirations, family and the shared dream to travel are topics frequently discussed and the group shares pictures from their phones on a regular basis.  Though the high schoolers will only … Read More

Aurora Welcomes Delegation from El Salvador

Friday, August 19, 2016. On August 19, 2016 Aurora Sister Cities International, together with the city of Aurora’s Office of International and Immigrant Affairs, welcomed a delegation from Antiguo Cuscatlán, El Salvador. The primary purpose of the delegation visit was to officiate a friendship city relationship between Mayors Steve Hogan and Zoila Milagros Navas of Aurora and Antiguo Cuscatlán. Upon arrival in Aurora, Mayor Navas and the delegation from Antiguo Cuscatlán toured the city and government center with city of Aurora staff members and representatives of local community organizations.
