Howdy Cows Travel from Aurora to Korea

ASCIRecent News

Delegates from our Sister City in Korea, Seongnam City, visited Aurora last month during the city’s annual Global Fest celebration.  The three Korean delegates from the Seongnam City Trade Office spent three days meeting with local representatives from the Anschutz Medical Campus, the Community College of Aurora, and with city  of Aurora management to discuss future municipal exchange opportunities.  They also met with the city’s Office of International and Immigrant Affairs and with Mark Shaker, owner and developer of Aurora’s new Stanley Marketplace.

Korea Committee members Margee Cannon and Becky Hogan gifted two Howdy cows (staples of the Sweet Cow ice cream parlor in the Stanley marketplace) to our sister city in Korea to add to their toy library, a library that checks out infant and toddler toys to residents of Seongnam City .  The two Howdy cows arrived safely to Korea and our friends in Seongnam City have affectionately called the two Howdy cows “Stephen and Becky,” in honor of our Mayor and his wife Becky.  We here at ASCI would imagine that this is one of the “moo-st” interesting (and fun) honors our Mayor and his wife have ever received.
