Diversity and Inclusion Summit

The Aurora Chamber of Commerce hosted their second annual Diversity and Inclusion Resource Summit on Thursday October 12th.  The event kicked off with a resource fair which included vendors offering information and services aimed at diversifying local businesses, services, and products.  Numerous ethnic restaurants shared samples of their fine cuisine for all to try.  Aurora Sister Cities International’s booth informed attendees of our upcoming fundraiser, Turn It Up, and our mission to promote mutually beneficial local and global partnerships centered on international trade, and cultural and educational exchange.  Ayu G-Michael, who has volunteered for Aurora Sister Cities International on numerous occasions, provided her delicious and traditional Ethiopian coffee service.  Presenters also engaged the audience with personal stories explaining of the importance of inclusivity and equity in the workplace and community.
