Change the World, Start with Coffee

Developing relationships between local and global partnerships that center on international trade is paramount to the Aurora Sister Cities International’s mission.  What happens when cafes develop relationships with farmers halfway across the world?  New technology tracks each bean from the farm to mug to ensure that green coffee traders provide the best ethically scored beans and provides farmers fairer prices on their products.  In this BBC Article, farmers in war-torn Uganda are able to maintain employment and help stabilize their communities due to a independent coffee shop in London loving Ugandan brews.  New generations of coffee lovers are springing up across the globe and demanding that their brews be ethically sourced and meet the fair trade standards.  Even large companies such as Nestle and JAB are getting behind the movement and embracing this new trend.
