Aurora Sister Cities International Announces New Board Chair and Exciting Leadership Initiatives

Aurora, CO – October 1, 2024– Aurora Sister Cities International is thrilled to announce the appointment of Yuly Williams as the new Chair of the Board of Directors. With an exceptional career in the banking industry and a strong commitment to public service, economic development, and community engagement, Williams will lead the organization in advancing its mission to foster international partnerships, cultural understanding, and economic growth.

As a long-time resident of Aurora, Yuly has been very active in the city’s civic life, playing key roles in various community-driven projects and initiatives. She has been a key leader in the community serving as a board member of Havana Bid working to promote economic progress and small business in the city. Her efforts have strengthened Aurora’s standing as a forward-thinking, inclusive city that values its diversity and global connections. In addition, thanks to Yuly’s strong leadership and vision, Aurora Sister Cities International recently was able to complete an internal assessment and reorganization in the areas of internal operation, governance, programming, and development. These latest important changes would allow the organization to move to the next level in the near future.

As Board Chair, Williams along with the new Executive Director Daniana Trigoso-Kukulski will bring a fresh vision to the “Four Wheels of Success” core programs of Aurora Sister Cities International, each designed to enhance the city’s international relations, community connections, youth education, and economic strength.
The new strategic plan will be unveiled at the upcoming ASCI Gala on October 26th.

Williams is passionate about developing future leaders, particularly through global youth programs. By providing Aurora’s youth with the tools to become culturally competent and globally engaged, the program will expand leadership training, international exchange opportunities, and advocacy skills to prepare the next generation for leadership on both the local and global stage.
