Aurora Sister Cities International Bids Farewell to Its CEO as Organization Enters a New Chapter

Aurora, CO – February 6, 2026 – Aurora Sister Cities International (ASCI) announces that Samuel Gebremichael has concluded his service as Chief Executive Officer. We thank Samuel for his contributions to the organization and wish him well in his future endeavors.

The Board of Directors is energized by this new season for Aurora Sister Cities International and the bold direction ahead. With a clear plan and a newly strengthened organizational structure, ASCI is entering its next chapter positioned to make an even greater impact in advancing cultural exchange, educational partnerships, and global cooperation on behalf of the City of Aurora. Our reorganization is designed to expand our reach and deepen community engagement by strengthening connections with Aurora’s immigrant communities linked to our sister and friendship cities, while also fostering new partnerships with organizations and institutions in those cities. The Board will work closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure continuity of programming while accelerating growth and innovation across all areas of our work.

Aurora Sister Cities International continues to build global partnerships and foster cultural exchange, and we look forward to the next phase of the organization’s growth.
