Moving Forward: A Message from Aurora Sister Cities International

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Guided by our mission “to promote cultural exchange, educational partnerships, and economic cooperation through city-to-city relationships that link Aurora with communities around the world,” Aurora Sister Cities International (ASCI) is pleased to report that we are in a strong and stable position as we continue to progress under the leadership of our Board of Directors.

As we conduct our search for a new Chief Executive Officer, we are collaborating closely with the City of Aurora and its Office of International and Immigrant Affairs, with valuable support from our corporate and community partners, to ensure the continued advancement our mission. We deeply appreciate our Board Committees, who are managing organizational responsibilities during the interim period, as well as the ongoing efforts of our City Working Groups in strengthening our city-to-city relationships. Our search for a new CEO is progressing, and we expect to welcome our new leader on or before July 1.

We are encouraged by the opportunities ahead and the initiatives currently underway, including:

  • Participation in the City of Aurora’s Global Fest on June 14, where ASCI and our City Working Groups will introduce visitors to our sister and friendship cities.
  • A women’s conference planned for later this summer and our annual Gala scheduled for the fall, both dedicated to celebrating cultural exchange and community impact.
  • The development of a new Friendship City partnership with Lalitpur, Nepal, which will further extend Aurora’s global connections.
  • Ongoing fundraising efforts, supported by the grant writing expertise of Diversity Matters, to ensure our sustainable growth and success.
  • Continued collaboration with our City Working Groups on events such as the Annual Korea Town Golf Tournament in September.

With your invaluable support, we remain dedicated to building bridges between communities and to fostering meaningful, lasting global connections. We appreciate your continued partnership as we navigate this period of transition and growth. Thank you for standing with us.

Please feel free to reach out if you would like to learn more about these initiatives or explore opportunities to become more involved with our work.

Warm regards,

Yuly Williams
Board Chair, on behalf of the Board of Directors of Aurora Sister Cities International
