Best Practices Exchange Between Aurora and Seongnam City-The SMART Way!

ASCIRecent News

Aurora and Seongnam City are at it again!  As part of our thriving sister city relationship with Seongnam, the City of Aurora and Aurora Sister Cities International will send seven delegates to our sister city in Korea to attend the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) conference from October 13-17, 2019.  This year’s conference theme is Advancing Human-Centered SMART Cities and delegates will gain insight on people-centered governance and citizen innovation for smarter, more sustainable communities.  Aurora delegates, comprising representatives from the city’s Water, Public Works, IT and International Initiatives departments, will bring back information to be used to benefit Aurora’s own SMART city initiatives.  Other delegates will include a representative from partner institution, Community College of Aurora and Aurora’s Mayor Pro Tem, Bob Roth.

Special thanks to Seongnam City Mayor, the Honorable Soo Mi Eun, for the special invitation to attend.  Thank you as well to the staff of WeGO and Seongnam City Trade and Exchanges team!  Thanks also to the City of Aurora’s Office of International and Immigrant Affairs for their partnership.  And of course, this thriving partnership would not be possible at all without the amazing team of volunteers on Aurora’s “K-Committee”!
