COVID Equity Clinic in Aurora Kicks Off!

ASCIRecent News

On February 27th Aurora Sister Cities partnered with The Havana Business Improvement District, the City of Aurora and the NAACP to host an equity vaccination clinic.  The Medicine Clinic for Health Equity/Colorado Alliance for Health Equity and Practice alongside the Colorado Primary Care Clinic staff administered 400 vaccines and will be returning on March 27th to provide the second inoculation to patients.  As this clinic served a wide range of ethnicities and cultures, volunteer interpreters provided assistance in over 20 different languages ranging from Spanish, Amharic, Korean, Mandarin, Turkish, Azerbaijani, Farsi, Somali and American Sign Language. To ensure a smooth process for patients, 65 community members volunteered their time and knowledge.  We’d like to thank Chris Swank with the Stampede for donating the space to safely vaccinate people as well as the Haines family for providing food and refreshments.  H-Mart donated hand sanitizer and Kleenex for patients and volunteers donated over 400 hours.  Patients that received the first vaccination will return on March 27th for their second inoculation.
