Aurora Sister Cities Receives Grant from WEND Collective

ASCIRecent News

We are honored to share that Aurora Sister Cities International’s Global Youth Leaders Pipeline program is the recipient of a $30,000 grant from the WEND Collective which will help ensure current and future success of the program.

Global Youth Leaders (GYL) engages disadvantaged youth in Aurora, a city known in Colorado for its large global population. With an innately diverse community and school districts riddled with risk factors there is a need to cultivate and engage the city’s young people in positive youth development and civic engagement opportunities. Global Youth Leaders offers such an opportunity through its intentional recruitment of marginalized youth aged 13-15 in a pipeline program designed to give them the skills and competencies to act as local leaders, global ambassadors, innovative thinkers, aspiring entrepreneurs and champions of change all while empowering them to pursue post-secondary education.

Since its launch in 2017, the Global Youth Leaders program has served 206 youth and year-after-year survey results and youth re-engagement numbers show positive impact on youth.

We are deeply grateful to the entire WEND Collective team who have supported our program and encouraged our growth.
